Toyota Corolla 2003 and World Toyota Dealership

September 7, 2005

The complaint is about Toyota Corolla car and also about World Toyota Dealership. 2003 Toyota Corolla car which i bought during May 2003 and has about 34,000 Miles and has developed air bubbles on three out of four door panels. These bubbles swells to about 1.5" diameter (50 millimeters) during hot sunny days. I have never seen such a problem on any other car, including my seven year Mazda World Toyota located on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Atlanta, GA is my service location where i have been getting my service done for past three years and have been loyal customer. I contacted the dealership during July 2005 and told them about the problem. A service person (Brian Murray) asked me to get the car to the showroom. After careful observations he told me that he woud talk to Toyota and let me know what best can be done. He also told me that he will give me call in a day or two and took my cell phone number. He never called me. After a week i called him back and asked about the progress ... he once again told me that he will get in touch with Toyota and will get back to me in another day or two. He never called me back again. After another two weeks i received service coupon (email) from the dealership. And i replied to that email saying that if i do not hear about my problem i am going to write to internet and make my thoughts and feelings open to the world.... see email communication below. Till this date i have not heard anything positive / or any problem resolution from the dealership. Please tell me what should be done in such a situation. Thanks, Sudhakar Emial correspondence with World Toyota Dealership Date:

Top of Form Bottom of Form Chris, It has been a week since your last email and more than two weeks since i wrote the frist time, more than 45 days since i showed my car at your dealership, and i am still where i was on the issue. i hope you realize the frustrations! Sudhakar 8/30/2005

sudhakar Chris, Thanks for replying to my email. First of all i wanted to express that i had / have no intention or threatening any ones business ... that is not my business. And your dealership is the place where i was getting my service for past three years (see your records for details) You will appreciate my patience and frustrations if you put yourself in my shoes. Three year old car develops air bubbles (in the size of 1.5" diameter) on three out of four door panels.... i have not seen such a thing on any other car, ever ... not even on my seven year old Mazda. I SERIOUSLY consider this as a PRODUCT DEFECT. Secondly, I did not receive any phone calls from any one from your dealership - even after they promised to do so. You mention that Brian called me 2-3 times and left messages. First of all i did not receive any calls from him or anyone from your dealership on this issue (i can prove it through my cell phone (404 993 0402) call directory (bill)) - which is the number i had given him for call back. Now this is getting into a TRUST issue which we can discuss separately, if required. Why would not i receive his calls or return his call if he is helping me solve my problem???? You are saying if the car is under warranty ... the 3 year warranty has expired on May 2005 and car still has 34 K miles only. The first time i showed the problem to Brian was during July. I don’t know if you understand what i am trying to say, here... you have all the records of my car in your database and you could definitely make a decision based on those records. Now you are asking me to bring the car and show it to you ... why can't you come to some understanding if Brian has already seen the car and the problem and has good understanding of the issue? That way it will save both of us some time and help us move forward in a meaningful way. Waiting to hear from you. Sudhakar
