Stamps.com Stamps.com September 7, 2005 Stamps.com 12959 Coral Tree Place Los Angeles, CA 90066-7020 1) At the end of July or beginning of August, Someone from Stamps.com made a cold call to me (I never approached Stamps.com) and sold me a bill of goods. I was on a no-call list. Still, they called me. As I understand it, it is illegal to a make a sales call to a person on a no-call list. The lady said this was a monthly subscription, not annual. She said I would get some equipment for free and I could keep it for free even if I cancel. She kept repeating that I should try for a month since I have nothing to lose. I never received any equipment as promised. 2) I neither tried nor used their system or products. I wanted to cancel my subscription to Stamps.com and get a full refund of my money back. I tried once, I couldnt get thru for some reason. Then we had a death of a close family friend last week. So I was in distress. 3) On Sept 6th, I called for a cancellation and talked to Josh (1-52970159). First it had taken 30 minutes to get thru the line. Second, Josh told me that I was charged $179.88 for an annual subscription. Third, he said I cannot get a refund. 4) I had never ordered for an annual subscription. They charged me for $179.88, which I didnt even know they did. The lady said at the time that I should try for a month and cancel if I dont like it. I never had an opportunity to try it as I was busy in August and as I had faced the tragic death of my close and best friend last week. 5) I never got online and used their system. I never printed any stamps. I did not install any software to use their system. I dont even know what the userid and pwd are to try their system. 6) I do not use much in stamps. My needs are modest. I dont think I even use $200 worth of stamps in a year, let alone pay $179.88 for an annual subscription.
