Wolfgang Puck - Bistro Set Pans Wolfgang Puck - Bistro Set Pans September 7, 2005 Dear Complaints.com,
I am writing to you to warn consumers of the bad experience I had with Wolfgang Puck Pans: Bistro set. I waited three years patiently to purchase these very expensive pans, I paid over $200 for these pans and I was very disappointed when the glass lid exploded while I was cooking Salmon on a low heat setting. It just shattered, and luckily I had my back to the stove because glass went everywhere, it even impacted into the wall, on my clothes, in my hair, everywhere. The information listed on the website for wolfgang puck claims that this is manufactured frrom tempered glass, but from the destruction of the glass, I feel this was very deceptive. I dont know if I am the only one who has experienced this, however I just want to warn anyone purchasing these pans. I called the manufacturer, W.P. Productions, in Hollywood, Florida, 9/7/05 and they responded that there was probably a crack in the lid during shipping which may have caused the explosion and that I should have been warned about this possibility on the packet of information enclosed in the set.
In addition, one of the claims of this pan set is that they dont stick. This is also very untrue. I have been cooking for years and have used other less expensive pans, like T-Fal, and have had no problems with sticking food. Wolfgang puck brand pans have left me very disappointed and in tears.
Sincerely,
