Sir I had purchased a hutch post paid connection after paying Rs 500/- to their Dealer in Prashant Vihar Rohini, New Delhi on Aug 26th 2005. I was told that the connection would be activated in two days. Phone number 9811143286 was issued to me. On calling hutch care after two days I was informed that it takes 5 days and they have activated a prepaid connection with a validity of 10 days which I can use. 5 days later and a Rs 100 recharge later I was told by Hutch Care that it takes 10 days because I have dual sim (whatever that means, never saw them mentioning about it in their adverts.) and therefore I have to wait. Well 10 days later I was told that my address could not be confirmed and therefore I should go to a Hutch shop and request another verification. On my insistence I was curtly informed that nothing could be done and money cannot be returned. When I insisted that I work at the address that I had given and therefore there is no reason why the address could not be verified, I was told there is nothing that can be done and money cannot be returned. It is indeed interesting that such a rip off can occur in these days of consumer awareness. I suffered a lot by remaining disconnected for two weeks before shifting to my old Airtel prepaid connection. I would like to lodge a formal complaint and would like to know what are my rights.
