Best Buy Service and warranty stinks Best Buy Service and warranty stinks September 6, 2005 If you want to buy a washing machine with an extended warranty that will guarantee a prompt response and repair time, DON'T BUY FROM BEST BUY!. I purchased a five year extended warranty with a washing machine purchased at Best Buy a year and a half ago. On August 5th the machine began failing. It has been over a moth now , and after three visits from the Best Buy repair tech, it is still not working. First the guy did not know what was wrong and tinkered around for about an hour, then said "just go ahead and try it and call me if it isn't working". Of course, his fix just made things worse. The following tech came in, looked at the machine, did nothing else and said he was ordering parts. The parts arrived a week later, he came over a week after that and found that only some of the parts arrived. He installed those parts and said the same thing as the previous guy , "just call again if it doesn't work". Of course now it has been over a month and it still doesn't work. The service department is impossible to reach, even if I am lucky enough to actually get through to someone after waiting on the phone for forty five minutes at a time. The missing parts have still not arrived and I have no idea when this repair will actually be completed. This service department should be dismantled and outsourced to a company that actually knows how to provide a service.
