Childs captains bed

September 6, 2005

In July 2005 my mother in law bought my youngest son a lovely captains bed from Ashley furniture here in Las Vegas. Of course at the time of purchase she was informed that it would be 4-6 weeks before the bed would be delivered. We received a phone call from the delivery center in the middle of August that my sons bed was in and that we needed to call to set up delivery. I was finally able to call Ashley's on August 27 as my husband and I own a small business here (and are sometime just to overwhelmed with customers ourselves to take care of our personal business). I was to expect my sons bed on Sunday September 4th between the hours of 8:00 and 3:30. It being Labor day weekend we were quite happy that we would get it then. Needless to say we never received the bed in the time frame given. At 3:45 I called the delivery center and was told that the truck driver was at my house at 11:00 and no one was home and when they called no one answered the phone. I told the lady on the phone that she was wrong that there was 3 people in my house all day and when someone left the other 2 stayed behind waiting for the driver to come. I told her that if they called my home why didn't they leave a message as the had before ( she of course was unable to answer that question). When I told her I wanted my bed redelivered to my home that same day she told me "We can't do that and you will need to pay the redelivery fee prior to the bed being delivered" I went crazy when she told me that.. I demanded to speak with the supervisor and as we all know the supervisor was unavailable and I was directed to the store manager were the bed was purchased. I called that store and never once could I get the manager to come to the phone. I had to drive to the store and speak with him. I explained the situation to him and he told me it wasn't up to him when the bed was redelivered it was up to the delivery center. I asked why they directed me to the store manager and he said that's just what they do. I asked several time to be refunded and I didn't want the bed anymore and was denied my refund. I was told that the bed was specially made just for us and that they couldn't do that. I was told that they would waive the redelivery fee (big deal) and I could reschedule for delivery. I went to reschedule and told them what time I wanted it to be there by and was told they couldn't do that. This delivery center is 15 minutes away from my home trust me when I say they could have given me a time. I told the store manager to refund my mother in law the 75.00 delivery fee and I would go and get the be myself. At least if I go and get it I am guaranteed the delivery time and I don't have to worry about a driver lying to save their job. I will never buy or refer another customer to Ashley Furniture. I will however continue to go to RC Willey. I was very please with them. JM NLV

This is an obvious false claim, the delivery fee is 69.99 and has never been 75.00...ever!, of course you wil go to RC Willy, you probably work there.
