9.28.05: We tried to purchase a digital camera kit from Express Cameras online using two day shipping (a $75 upcharge). Although our credit card was fine, and there was no reason to discuss the order, they required us to call in for no other purpose than to try and upsell us using high-pressure tactics. When we responded no to these offers, we were told that there was always a 48 hour handling period prior to shipping our product, and we were treated very rudely. They also lied to me about lens features, the speed of CompactFlash cards and other things that I double-checked on other sites. After reading a similarly sketchy story on complaints.com, we immediately called back to cancel our order. We hope they aren’t charging our credit card the $1,094 that the order would have been worth. Please post this story, and discourage people from using expresscameras.com of New Jersey. These people are scumbags.
