Kinko's / FedEx locations in and around Baltimore; printing services Kinko's / FedEx locations in and around Baltimore; printing services September 29, 2005 Kinkos/FedEx Baltimore City MD Charles Street Annapolis MD Forest Drive Timonium MD Apparently, the merger between Kinkos and FedEx has not gone smoothly. I visited the Baltimore City location to have a poster printed. The guy at the front counter wearing a FedEx shirt said the girl in the back could help me. When I told her what I needed she told me the guy up front would be able to help me. With this treatment, I left to go find somewhere more competent. I tried to get my poster printed at the Kinko's in Annapolis and based on that experience I wrote the following letter to the branch manager: September 29, 2005 Dear Ms. Hruz, I am writing to inform you of the horrible experience I recently had in your Forest Drive store in Annapolis. I dropped off a file to be printed as a 4 by 4 poster on Tuesday September 27th at 8:44am and was told that I could pick it up on Wednesday September 28th at 6:00pm. I called the store before driving down from Baltimore and an associate by the name of Anthony said he couldnt find it and that he would need to research it and call me back. I waited a half hour, and after not hearing from him I called and asked to speak with a manager. To my surprise the manager was Anthony! He said it appeared as though it had been printed the day before but was lost. He said he would print it again and that I could pick it up after 7:00pm. I arrived about 8:00pm and was waited on by Josh. When Josh unrolled the poster I was appalled to see that the print was right up to the edge and that there was minimal margins left. Josh said they cut the posters exactly 4 by 4 so I thought perhaps I had maxed out my layout on my file. Josh could see that it didnt look appropriate and that I was unhappy, so he kindly gave me a discount. When I returned home, I measured the poster and it was only 41 by 42, not the 48 by 48 that would correspond to 4 by 4! I called Anthony and when I told him the measurements he said that he had run out of material while printing it! He said he would have to order more material and that he could meanwhile call another store to see if they had the material. I told him to call the Baltimore City location since it is close to my employment. Through this entire conversation he was also speaking back and forth with a customer in the background! After this fiasco he couldnt even give me his full attention. He called back later that evening and said that the Timonium store could print it and that he would send them my file. The service I received at your store was appalling. And to make matters worse, I tried calling the store a couple of times today to 1) verify that the file was sent to the Timonium store, and 2) speak with you about the experience I had, however nobody answers the phone! I am not sure if this letter will aid in improving things, but I will never know because I will never use your store again. Because they were not answering their phone, I contacted the Timonium MD branch where they were supposed to send my file to be printed. It's been approximately one hour now and that store is unabale to find my poster!
