Description of Complaint

This company approaches the consumer initially through doorstep selling, with the offer of a free inspection of exterior surfaces. This is explained as a marketing promotion. They then make an appointment and one of their representatives arrives (perhaps the following day). The representative then carries out a 'check' of the exterior surface of your property, though it is unknown if they have the necessary qualifications to do so. The representative then demonstrates the company's product 'Tex-cote'. This is accompanied by a video from the late 1980s. Testimonials are also presented, though none of these are within the last five years. In short, none of the assurances as to the reliability of the company are recent, nor is any evidence presented that they refer to Mosaic ERP Systems Ltd. rather than an older company. The representative then provides an estimate which is knowingly unrealistic. On rejection of this offer he drops the price by about
