SEARS CREDIT CARD RATES THROUGH THE ROOF SEARS CREDIT CARD RATES THROUGH THE ROOF September 28, 2005 My husband and I have been holders of a Sears credit card since early 1980s. After being six days late in March 2005 and seven days late in July this year our rate was increased to over 30%. No excuse for being late but rate is through the roof. When I try to talk to customer service, I am told everything is automatic and no one to talk to. No benefit what so ever for being customer for so many years. All they can say is that rate increase is in the terms and conditions. We all know how easy those are to read. Sears should be ashamed of themselves. I am sure there are other credit card companies that do the same but I thought Sears was a little better. Apparently not.
