Publishers' Clearing House

September 2, 2005

I sure made a mistake entering the PCH sweepstakes online. I think that their online "entries" are actually a means of gathering personal information that they can sell/lend/rent/give to other parties. Since I entered in November of 2004, I have received LITERALLY THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of spam message -- I average getting about 300+ per week. I complained to PCH. During the entry process, you are asked to complete a survey. Every single question on the survey also includes a "do you want more information from our partners?" question (or something like that). I answered "no" EVERY SINGLE TIME! When I complained to PCH and told them this, they told me that basically whether I answer "yes" or "no," just the fact that I completed the survey gave them the right to do whatever the hell they wanted with my personal information. Most of the spam I get is for hard-core porn, sites where I can buy anything from Cialis to Viagra to Human Growth Hormone. I told PCH that their "partners" are advertising for this response. I've also reported them to the BBB for the Port Washington, NY area, the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, and the Federal Trade Commission. I wouldn't mind hearing from others who are equally disgusted about being pimped out like this by this company! Sue Click this link to e-mail the message author: COMPLAINTS.COM_FORM_MAIL_48662#
