macys, furniture department macys, furniture department September 17, 2005 Macys P.O. Box 02-4500 Brooklyn, New York, 11202-4500 1-800-526-1202 phone ( they rudely refused to provide an email address, although they have a website: www.macys.com) In 1997 detailed complaint In 1997, my husband and I purchased a Simmons mattress/boxspring set from Macys with a ten year warranty included. The covering on the mattress has started to decay, and therefore, under the warranty, we requested a replacement. Macy's claimed that the mattress cover was stained and soiled, (IT WAS NOT SOILED OR STAINED AT ALL) and they would not replace the mattress. Simmons would also not replace the mattress. What I want is for everyone to know how bad Macy's customer service is - they have given me the runaround for weeks. The mattress is barely used, because my husband and I are rarely home due to constant travel! They are liars. When I contacted them and asked for an email address; they claimed that they didn't have one, and simply REFUSED TO PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFORMATION. They are quite simply, so bad, that I will never purchase anything from them again, and I suggest no one else does either.

As a customer service rep (not with Macy's) I can admit that I would be suspicious as well. Most warranties don't cover the fabric covering but only the structure itself....frame, springs etc. So no matter what the mattress looks like as long as the structure is still sound, the may not give you a replacement. If your complaint is a valid one, you should blame the growing number of consumers out there who constantly take advantage of these warranties in order to never have to buy anything for there homes ever again.
