United Auto Insurance in Oak Brook, Illinois

October 7, 2005

I purchased a 1995 Dodge Spirit with a V6 engine May 31, 2005. While visiting in Chicago my vehicle was struck when the driver swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle on August 5, 2005. The Chicago Police and several witnesses all agreed I was not at all to blame for the accident and the other party (United Auto) was to pay for my damage. It is now October 7, 2005 and United Auto Claims they can't get the crash report from Chicago and it could take up to 6 months. Without the crash report they can't pay anything. In addition they claim it is totaled and only worth $535.00! The car is between good and fair condition. There is some minimal paint damage from peeling paint and a couple of very small dings in side passenger doors from people opening doors in parking lots. This car was purchased in Tennessee and has absolutely no rust damage and is in excellent running order. They are also claiming there is body damage on the back where there in nothing at all! Kelly Blue Book lists the value as 1055 for fair condition and 1445 for good condition. nada list the value at the lowest to 1725 for average value. Jaimie at United Auto also told me it was worth 1725 but they had to deduct for "all" the flaws-the damage to the from right fender-that is what their client did to me!!! Has anyone else had such problems with this company?
