Best Buy Best Buy October 6, 2005 Best Buy Store, Lynchburg, VA. I purchased a $400.00 digital camera from Best Buy in Lynchburg, Va. on 3/30/05. I also bought the extended warranty for $40.00. Sadly, on 5/18/05 the camera "died." Returned it immediately to Best Buy-instead of an exchange, they took it to be repaired. Was told it would take 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, we began calling regularly to inquire about the status-started getting a runaround even at this point. Two months into it, we began to get seriously concerned, but still no satisfaction. Finally in August, after countless calls, BB couldn't even locate my camera, and told me they'd send me a gift card for the full amount, which I could use to purchase another camera. However, this could take weeks of red tape again. They said I should go ahead and buy a new camera on my BB card, then when the gift card came through, they would allow me to apply it to my card balance, something they usually don't do. Through all this, we had been communicating with our local BB Mgr., who was cooperative and sympathetic. He agreed this would be the best thing to do, so we went ahead and bought another camera. Of course, two more months have gone by, and we have received no gift card, and absolutely no response to our constant inquiries. We do, however, receive bills and interest on the now two digital cameras we bought with our BB card. Occasionally, the BB rep. on the phone will be sympathetic and promise that they'll get to the bottom of it, and our card will be in the mail.....but sadly nothing has yet happened.
