Subject: Your Company is so far behind the curve in customer service During my recent business trip;

 

I shopped your store in Albuquerque N.M. I purchased an orange tiered gypsy skirt and a blouse, silk with camisole. I have not been happy with the top/blouse and went to Steinmart when I got to Dallas, the second leg of my trip, to find something that I could wear with this skirt. I lost my receipt, in Steinmart, and they were unable to recover it. I had decided that was to much of a hassle and taking to much of my time to try and match the skirt with a different top.

 

I went to the Store on Cooper, in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area to return the items. All items had the original tags still in place and explained to the manager that I would be happy to take an in store credit so I could take my time to select replacement items. She was abrupt and told me that I could exchange the items right then and there for the same amount or more and she would take back the items. I explained that could not come back. My business trip took me to Lubbock that night and it would be weeks before I would return to California to use the credit or be able to take the time to select other articles. I tried to comply and looked around but just couldn't spend the necessary time to select something. She held fast to her original statement so I took the items back.

 

I am really pissed. I did not ask for money back or even to have the amount cr. to my account. Just an in store credit. Now I have to keep these items with me until I receive my statement so that I can return them in Calif. I can not nor will not wear them.

 

I hope that Burlington's in Concord, Antiock will accept my Mastercharge statement as a receipt.

 

I have never been treated so rudely. What difference it would have made if they had given me an in house credit vs. exchanging them on the spot?
