On or about August 5th, 2005, I purchased two chandeliers from Spectrum Home Furnishings, 510 Squankum-Yellow Brook Road, Farmingdale, NJ, 07727, for the cost of $900.00. The lights were to go up in a house that I have under construction in Colorado so they were delivered to a friend there instead of my residence in Texas. Both chandeliers were delivered broken. This was discovered just about the middle of September. However one was still usable and the other was sent back via the U.S. mail. The chandelier was so big that it took three boxes to send it back in. I make mention of the three boxes only because I know the post office can be inept at times but supposedly none of the three boxes made it back to Spectrum. On contacting Spectrum Home Furnishings I was chastised for returning the item and that I had no authorization to do so. The particular customer service rep that I dealt with claimed that his name was Jack. Jack told me that I could not have a refund but that store credit was all that he could do for me. At the time a refund was all that made sense for me but have since changed my mind. He stated that nothing could be done until there was proof of delivery at the store. I agreed to wait and call him at a later time. Two weeks later I called back. I was placed on hold for undesirable amounts of time the two times that I called. I made a 3rd call and asked that a supervisor call me back regarding the matter. I am still waiting for this call. On October 6th, I called again in the morning and afternoon. Both times the reps seem to take delight in the fact that I had no proof that the packages ever made it to them and they indicated that they had not received them. This I find very hard to believe. They now refuse to refund my money or send me a new light. When someone in Texas has property that does not belong to them they usually end up in the Criminal Justice System.
