I ordered from Protect America in mid 2002. We were not told it was a 3 year contract nor that it was automatically renewed. On the contrary, the guy told us that it was an "annual" contract. We found the system to be lame and annoying and never even used it. In 2003, once our one year was up and money was still being taken out of our account, we called and they informed us it was a 3 year contract and to call back when the 3 years was up to cancel. So we did. We called on the day our 3 year contract was up and then we were informed that we were renewed for another year because we did not write 60 days in advance to cancel. We told them that we had called 2 years earlier and were told to "call". We let them know that we were very upset that after one year we tried to cancel and were now paying for a total of 4 years!! We asked to speak to everyone we could and it did no good. We were sent to several different people who did not help at all. The last one finally gave us a fax number and told us to send in a fax with our complaint and reason to request ending the service. So we did. And again NOTHING.

If there were any good lawyers in this town I would hire one and get all the people on here that have written with the same complaints and do one of the biggest lawsuits in history!! If anyone here ever gets the idea to do just that and finds a good lawyer, let me know... I will join the lawsuit full force!! These guys need to be taught that they cannot just take our hard earned money.. They have done nothing for our money! I'm sure there are many many many others who would love to be part of a lawsuit agianst this comapany!
