Volkswagen Passat / new transmission Volkswagen Passat / new transmission October 28, 2005 Walsher Bloomington Dodge 8011 Penn Ave South Bloomington, MN 55431 I purchased a 2001 Volkswagen Passat 6 month ago with 51060 miles on it from Walsher. When I purchased the car the salesman told me I had a 10yr/100,000 power tran warranty on it, well on Oct 16 my transmission went out with 65,xxx miles one it. I brought it to the shop to be fixed and when I was talking with the mechanic he told me that my warranty was not valid because I was the second own and the second owner only had 5yr/50,000 mile warranty so I called Walsher and told them that the salesman had told me that I had the 10yr/100,000 power tran warranty and the manager that I talk to said she would talk to the salesman and see if he remembered anything well of course he didn't. When the salesperson was talking to me about the warranty (which my boyfriend was there and heard it too) he pulled out a Official Warranty Guide Book and showed us in there the warranty but he did not go underneath the warranty chart were is says that second owner only has 5yr/50,000. I argued with the manager at Walsher about the issue if he didn't tell us about the warranty why would he have given us the book because I bought it with 51060 miles which means I had no warranty, I could not get anywhere with her. She did say they audiotape the sale and she would listen to it but I told her it was not the person who did the finance part it was the actually salesperson, like I said I didn't get very far with her and told her apparently you are not go to do anything she said she was still going to listen to the tape and I said don't bother because it was the salesperson who told us. I am also unhappy with Volkswagen because I think they should stand behind there cars. The car only has 65,xxx miles on it so I don't think the tran should be going out and considering it is going to cost 4200.00 to put a new on in.
