October 25, 2005

In January of 2005 I cancelled my AOL subscription. There was no signed contract for any number of years. I have a letter from AOL stating that they had received and acted upon my cancellation and would welcome me back if I ever decided to come back. Well, evidently they did not cancel it because they continued billing me for it and I had stopped the payment with my credit card so that they could not automatically deduct it from my account. They now are calling my work number and I have informed them repeatedly, each time getting the name of the person calling, that they are not allowed to do this and I do not owe them any money. I have told them to research their letter to me from January of 2005 and they say there is no such letter (I have it in my files). Each time I tell them not to call my work number, to call my home number which they have, there is dead silence and my red light on my telephone goes out which means that they have hung up. I have spoken with Joyan and Jackie today – October 25, 2005: Joyan at 9:10 am PST and Jackie at 9:34 am PST. I am starting a journal and it will be turned over to the FTC because I refuse to allow AOL to “screw” me over again – they did it before and this time I will fight them with every governmental agency available to me.
