MFI Complaint

MFI Internet Orders Here is the letter I have sent to Watchdog (Consumer Program), I feel it is my public duty to let others know how diabolical MFI’s service really is. I ordered a Bathroom through the MFI website and arranged my deliver date. The delivery date came and MARK II (the delivery contractor) called to say there was not enough room on the van and that my bathroom would not be delivered. They then asked me if that was OK - what a stupid question!! I had to turn my fitters away with the knowledge that would have no work that week!! I grumbled but re-arranged the delivery date for 2 weeks later (30th Sept). The delivery date came and went but this time no phone call! Again I had to turn my fitters away with no work (and this time had to pay them). By now I am down fitter’s fees (

i visited a mfi sore to buy a table when i chose the table i wanted i enquired about it and they told me there would be a 6 week wait which was fine.

when we went to pay and order the table, they then told me that the diliverey date would be in 10 weeks again this was fine and it would be delivered on the 27sept.

this date was when i was on holiday so i arranged for afriend to wait in for the delivery.i recived a phone call on that morning to tell me that they could deliver the chairs but no table so i said just deliver the chair and they could deliver the table at a later date which was in 6 weeks the 17 of nov again this was fine.

On the 17 of novemeber i recived a phone call to tell me that the table could not be delivered till the 1st december.

i was apalled that i woud have to wait futher for the table.

i made a compaint buy phone and they told me that i could not have any compensaion or they could not deal with the matter till after the table has arrived.

i went in to the st' helens brach where i purchesed the table to complian. i spoke to the store manager peter and he said he would ring me and tell me what compensaion i would recive and if the table would arrive on that date.

the next day i recived a call from a college of pete's and she told me that the table would be there on the 1st december. when i asked about the compensaion for the delay and my time taken off work to wait in for it she said that she did not know about this and she would get the manger peter to ring me as it was his day off.

i did not recieve any call from the manager.

i beleive that i'm intilled to some form of compensaion for the incovenice cause and the 19 weeks in total that i had to wait

Whilst I apreciate yjay your complaint was lodged several years ago and I am sure you are now enjoying your MFI bathroom I would suggest that to have arranged that your fittters be there on the day of delivery was not particuarly clever. Furniture could be delivered damaged and I think you'll find that even MFI recommend that a few days elapse between delivery and installation. I suggest you check your Customer Charter paperwork which clearly states the position and then perhps you won't need to complain following your own stupidity.
