Miami Dade Housing Agnecy / Community Action Agency Miami Dade Housing Agnecy / Community Action Agency November 7, 2005 Community Action Agency / Miami Dade Housing Agency 1902 N.W. 2nd Avenue Miami, Florida 33127 The purpose of this complaint is my husband and I have been part of a home improve program through Miami-Dade Housing Agency since 1998. This program is helpful when it works. The process of the program is to find a contractor that works through their program to do the work that has been approved by the county. We have tried every name listed that was given to us in 1998, but most of those same people that are listed have told us they are no longer working with Dade County for various reasons. Or we would set up an appointment to meet with them and they never show up. After going through this for a couple of years, and being very patient with Miami Dade Housing/CAA, we thought in order to get the work done we would have to find someone on our own. But the problem is, we can not afford to pay for the work to be done and reimbursed by Miami Dade Housing/CAA. If we were able to do that, we would never have entered into the program. There was some work done and Miami Dade Housing/CAA has deducted the total from the original contract price. Now it seems ever since we've decided to try and get the work done we've been asked to sign various change order adjustments, where the balance seems to change, but haven't received any money to complete the remaining work. We are at a point now where our patients have run thin after 7 years. All we want is our home complete with the work that Dade County Housing said they would help us with. We are asking for your help, please, to finalize this contract for home improvement. Thanking you in advance for your help. Clifford
