USPS mail lost / misdirected Delivery Confirmation USPS mail lost / misdirected Delivery Confirmation November 7, 2005 On Oc.27,2005 I mailed a large envelope by First Class mail with Delivery Confirmation # 048ddddddd7 . My Receipt from the machine shows that I sent it to Zip 10018 . But nobody seems to know what happened to the package. As of Oct. 28, 2005 the USPS website says that it reached Washington DC 20018 and that it is being held for pick up. I called that post office and the worker could not find the package there. I went to the post office where I mailed it (Zip 11040 ) and a manager tried to call Washington post office with no results. The manager showed me a paper which says that Scanner ID K032649 was used to say on 10/28/05 11:14 that "NOTICE LEFT" in Washington DC 20018. So I called post office with ZIP 10018 to see if somebody there used Scanner ID K032649 and somehow the package was there. The worker took my phone # and I never heard from her.. Now the package has no monetary value - it weighs 8.2 oz and is full of papers (some 40 sheets). It will take me a long time to reconstruct some papers. Hope somebody can do something about things like that. Thanks, M. L.
