pacific stereo

November 6, 2005

To whom it my concern, My name is David Cox and I have had an account with sony financial services for about 6 months now. I just wanted to state that I have no problem with sony or your financial services. The reason I have this account is through Pacific Stereo because I purchased a complete alpine package from them including 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, a head unit, a viper alarm, rockford fosgate amplifier, power cap, and two alpine duel voice coil subwoofers totaling to about $1,900 after taxes. This reason I am writing this letter is to dispute my balance, for the second time. The first time I had to go back to pacific stereo was about 2 days later (after installation) because my memory power to my head unit wasn't hooked up( so I had to turn the stereo on every time I turned my car on) and I noticed that the rear speaker wasn't working either. So when I went in there I asked for Joe (the manager) to help me, and after arguing for several minutes he agreed to have the tech. look at it and fix the problem. The second time I went back to Pacific Stereo. I noticed there was a screw hole in the top of my cup holder ( right next to the bass control) so what it looked like to me, was they accidentally mounted the bass control on my cup holder and then realized it was a cup holder and moved it, which left the hole. so I turned a blind eye to that just because I didn't want to go all the way down there again and get treated like it was my fault or something. But after a day or two my windows would randomly stop working so I knew I needed to go down there AGAIN! and the same day, My little sister went out to my car (with the alarm set) and opened my passenger door and it didn't even activate so at this point I was furious and took the car down there that day and demanded they fix the problem which again after arguing , them telling me that the window thing is my fault and trying to tell me that it was my cars door switches were broken and getting treated like crap. I had to go out to there garage and show the installer that my door switches worked fine and it was there fault and it obviously wasn't hooked up right. They went ahead and fixed my windows, and hooked the doors up to the alarm, after I confronted them on there lie. The third time I had to go back to pacific stereo. I was washing my car about 1-2 weeks after the original purchase date and I noticed that they had improperly mounted my rear speakers, which are still also damaged. This is hard to explain, but they screwed the speakers underneath the metal in my trunk which pressed the foam of the speaker against the metal frame, basically holding the cone of the speaker down and damaging the foam around it. so I said to my self, I bet those half ass installers didn't even hook up my ignition kill to my car. So I purposely set my alarm off on my car and tried starting it and sure enough they didn't, because while the alarm was going off my car started. So this was when I decided I am not going back to pacific stereo again because they obviously don't care about the customer and I get treated like crap every time I go back in there even though its there fault I am there in the first place. So I contacted sony financial services to dispute my balance( for the first time) and in a couple weeks Joe the manager had called me and said if I want to come back they would hook my stuff up right and I told him I was sick of dealing with them because they treat me like crap and I have already given them multiple opportunities to hook everything up right and that I just want my money back and that I would return the merchandise. He then copped an attitude with me and told me " we've been dealing with sony financial for a long time and I personally know people down there and I already talked to them and your not going to get your money back, you can either come down here now and ill hook it up or not but either way your not getting a refund" so I said if I come down there are you going to hook my up with something extra for all my hassle which he agreed. I went down there and gave them one more chance to do it right and he did hook me up with the next higher up sub woofer. Then recently about two weeks ago, the FOURTH! time. My head unit would skip when I hit a bump and it wouldn't stop skipping until I turned it off then on again, and the tilt function on the deck was malfunctioning so I have kind of been putting this off for a couple weeks and I just put my car up for sale, because I am purchasing a new vehicle, and I know I am not going get the money back out of my stereo so I started to take it out starting with the sub woofers and when I pulled my subs out of my trunk I was looking at them and I noticed a punch hole from a screw driver so I stopped pulling it out because I thought, since they installed it he might give me trouble. So I went down there and told him about the deck and showed him the hole in the sub woofer. He tells me " how do I know you didn't do this when you pulled it out" and I told him I didn't even need a screw driver to pull them out and I knew they would try and pull this crap so that's why I didn't pull the deck and the rest of it out and he gets his usual attitude with me and says "ok we'll send it to alpine and have them put a new cone on it" and at that point I couldn't help being nice any more and I told him straight up, I purchased these things here at pacific stereo not at alpine and that they need to get replaced, I paid over $1,800 and this is like my fifth time down here, you feed me this crap every time I have to come back. he says (Joe) " I don't care how many times you have been down her or how much you paid for it, I don't like your attitude or the way your talking to me why don't you get the fuck out of here!" at this point I told him fine I'm contacting pacific stereo, sony, and the better business burro. He then yells back " do whatever you want just get the fuck out of here........". I am disputing my balance with sony financial services because I am sick of trying to reason with this company that doesn't care about its customer, customer service, or any kind of business ethics what so ever. I have given them multiple opportunities to do the job right, despite the way they treat me and all the hassle I have to go through to bring my car down there and leave it for several hours at a time. I understand that we're all human and we make mistakes but this should have been done right the first time especially considering the kind of money I paid to have them do this. Or at least make sure everything is right the second time I bring my car in there. Thank you for your time Sincerely, David Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User
