vw bug and Bankston Chevrolet of Fort Worth, Tx vw bug and Bankston Chevrolet of Fort Worth, Tx November 29, 2005 I purchased a VW Beetle from the Fort Worth dealership in August and before we drove off the lot we noticed the first of several problems with the car,we were told it was only fuses and a headlight needed replacing. The dealership told me they would take care of the problem since I lived in Andrews Texas so I was told to go to a V W repair center and get an estimate.I did as asked and had Messer V W in Lubbock Tx. fax the estimate and to get in touch with the manager to discuss the repairs, the shop foreman was authorized to do the repairs,I never got a call to let me know the work had beenpre-authorized.I called Messer VW to find out what Bankston decieded to do about the car since the repairs needed on the car ended up being so extensive and the total bill came to right at $2,000.I was told they had authorized it and said they would be sending me a check for the repairs and the car was ready for pick up just as soon as the check came in from Bankston.I sent them an e-mail to verify when the check would be sent only to be told they were only going to pay around $315. of the bill, needless to say they didn't send the $315,my car is still in the shop and I do have copies of all the e-mails to verify this.I feel like this dealership sold me a lemmon car ,full well knowing all the problems.I put my savings of $2,000 down on this car and cannot afford to pay this bill.I am a single parent with a limited income and I have been making car and insurance payments on something that has been in the shop since I purchased it,I can't keep doing this,so I will have to probably let the car go back, because I can't afford the payments and a large loan on the repairs.I would really appreciate any advice you could give me on the matter,I feel it is a great injustice when companies aren't held accountable for mis-representation and fraud.
