Customer of Airtel - Karnataka Customer of Airtel - Karnataka November 29, 2005 Dear Sir, I am writing this mail from Bangalore Karnataka. I would request you to spare 5 minutes of your time to read the mail below. I am Airtel customer of Karnataka circle. This month I receive a bill of Rs. 15,730=00 where in the valued added services (gprs mobile office 399 with 100mb data transfer facility) shows a whopping Rs.13,256=00. As per the airtel records, the total data transfer is well within the prescribed limits of 100mb. But the way it is calculated is totally surprise to me. It was not communicated to me either by customer care executive nor airtel official website during activation. I have necessary proof to prove that airtel does not provide these information in advance. Consumer comes to know only after the bill is generated by the time it would be late to act. Consumer is denied the right of information and education. All the major players like HUTCH, BSNL, IDEA has very clear communication in their website about gprs based internet service. Why is Airtel not doing this ? A brief comparison of similar service with BSNL or say IDEA would have costed me rs.349 and rs.700+ (IDEA) resp. compared to a whopping Rs.13,256=00 with Airtel. I could have also avoided this rise bill if airtel has provided the gprs data logs was mentioned in the bill dated 24/10 although the service was active from 15th Oct. Why the details has only come in the subsequent bill dated 24/11 ? Also my credit limit which is rs.3000=00 was also not considered to put a stop to a activity. I would request your help to address this consumer problem. It is not one consumer of Airtel, I am sure others across India would also be facing similar situations. If you require, I can provide following details to prove my case . Current Bill with grps data log. My interactions with customer care which I did it today to prove that airtel does not provide any information to its customer on the billing. A Screen capture of the airtel website where it does not provide any pricing details about their mobile office. (Visit http://www.airtelworld.com/spservices_gprsmo.jsp to know how much info they are providing to the customer) I would appreciate your help in this matter. Looking forward to hear from you.
