Subject: Caveat Emptor -- Let the Buyer Beware Anyone who is searching for the ideal nursery furniture for a new baby need NOT step foot in Baby Town and Kids’ Rooms Too. Address: 3701 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205 Phone: (704) 377-4111. Despite repeated assurances that nursery furniture we ordered in the early August 2005 would be delivered well in advance of our baby’s arrival, we found ourselves 2 weeks away from our delivery date with only a changing table arriving with no hopes or commitment of ever seeing the remainder of our $2600 order which included the crib and dresser. Poor execution on the order aside, we were treated as a major nuisance when we called to inquire as to status. To top off receiving horrendous customer service repeatedly, the ultimate and final insult occurred when the owner of this establishment had the gall to indicate that she was sure my wife was used to getting her way and that life must not have dealt her any hard blows for her to be so upset about late furniture. Without getting into great detail, it is ironic that this woman chose to presume how ideal our lives have been. I’m certain if she knew what we went through in order to achieve and maintain a healthy pregnancy she might have chosen her words more carefully. This business is poor from start to finish. They do not have the slightest idea how to treat customers and they should be avoided at all costs. We paid a high cost in terms of undue worry, undelivered furniture and no respect for our sensibilities as consumers. Our order has been cancelled and we will not frequent this establishment again.
