Dell Inspiron 1000

November 29, 2005

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1000 via Dell Online in April of 2003. I began having problems with it a year later, and did a complete system re-install which, Dell tech support assured me, would fix the problem. Another year later, more problems brought me back to Dell tech support, but this time they determined that it was the "motherboard," and told me it would cost nearly $500 to fix. I did not buy the extended warranty at the time of purchase because I knew that I would not be using the computer very often -- just for occasional Internet access and MP3 usage. I have not used the computer much at all, but because the warranty has expired, I am left with nothing, as $500 for repairs is cost-prohibitive. Dell does not stand by their products -- they should not make their computers so expensive to repair when they are clearly prone to breakdown. I know I am not the only one who has complained

about motherboard problems with Dell products. DO NOT BUY DELL!!!
