Verizon Broadband DSL Verizon Broadband DSL November 29, 2005 I signed up for Verizon High Speed Internet. For the past 3 or 4 months I had been getting speeds of over 2,700 kbps Download and 711 kbps Upload. Over the past week my Download speeds have been 2,500 or more below that Download and 300 + Upload, a huge drop compared to what I used to get on a consistant basis. I called Verizon's so called Tech Support and they went to their speed test site and it confirmed the huge drops in speeds I told them about. The Tech people were obviously reading off a talking points sheet and after talking with 7 or more people I realized they were incompetant. They said it must be my computer which by the way is in great shape. I discovered that after midnight I start getting the speeds I used to get consistantly but from about 8:30AM and on I get varied speeds like 187kbps Download and a little over 200 kbps upoad. My former ISP was dialup and that was much faster than my Verizon Broadband. They tested the line and claim I am getting 3,000 kbps speed but they are in lah lah land. I have a website and hate to disconnect because I am involved in scientific research. Isn't there any way to get these clowns from making fraudulant claims about their so called high speed internet? I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau in Portland , Maine tomorrow. I have had a couple computer professionals check out my computer and it is error and virus free and runs like a top. It seems Verizon is adding more customers than their system can handle thereby causing slower web brousing. I am very angry. Is there any way we can get them to stop their lies and fix the problem of slower speeds. I left dialup because of their tv commercials but they are NOT keeping their part of the bargain. I am very angry.
