Thane – Mumbai Hello I purchased a new cellphone and Hutch prepaid connection ( Rs 330/-, No. 9820818631) on 31 Oct.It was a 30 days validity pack with full talktime offer. However the validity ran out on 25th Nov itself causing a loss of 5 days time to me. When I checked with the Orange people, they washed their hands off saying that it must have been a pre-activated card, activated on 25 Nov by dealer when the card was supplied by them to him. When I asked the dealer, he confirms this as the normal practice with Orange cards with this full talktime offer. I also recently purchased an AIRTEL card with full talktime offer. With them, there was no requirement for the dealer to activate it the day he received it from the company, thus making full 30 days available to the customer. Orange has clearly set up a system where the customer loses talktime without his knowledge. Also, their attitude to my compliant was pretty much ' We couldn't care less'. What can I do to caution others so that they are aware of this sharp practice being used by Orange? Nilay 022-253aaa
