Franklin PageMark Dictionary

Franklin PageMark Dictionary Franklin PageMark Dictionary November 28, 2005 1) I've had my Franklin PageMark Dictionary (by Merriam-Webster) for just 1.5 years, after which the buttons on the bottom half of the unit stopped working. The warranty is only good for a year, so after I bought a new battery and reset it, the company said there was nothing they could do to help me with the now useless product (since the "enter/=" button doesn't work, I can't retrieve any definitions or use the calculator). Many products I buy come with only a 1-year warranty, but they last for a long time. Therefore, I don't it's enough for an expensive dictionary ($50.00) that I barely used to last only 1.5 years.
2) The PageMark package claimed that the dictionary contained the same number of words as my pocket Merriam-Webster dictionary. However, there were countless words in my pocket dictionary that were not contained in the PageMark. I wonder if the PageMark's claim regarding number of definitions it provides is based on multiple versions of each word (i.e. throw, threw and throwing = 3 words), and I posed that question to the company. They didn't answer it.
There were VERY few words I didn't know which the PageMark could define, and I eventually just used the unit for its calculator feature. Considering the number of words the PageMark can define, I don't think it would be valuable for anyone past junior high school.
