200 West Third Street Suite 200 Alton, Illinois 62002 Home/Internet based travel agency package Another pyramid scheme!!! I didn't join it to make money rather, use the "benefits" of cheap travel. For around $400 down and $50 a month (website maintenance) you are promised all the discounts and perks travel agents receive. All of this and a cheesy ID card and information book. I tried using in for 90 days. Every airline trip, I got cheaper fairs on "priceline.com". At the check-in counter when trying to get an upgrade, they looked at my ID and laughed. At the hotels, no discounts at all. When I wanted my money back, they said: "we have a strict 3 day cancellation period". How can you find out if everything they say is true in 3 days??????????? david Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Tuesday, 31-May-05 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On Thisi joined ytb didn't get anything i was told. i,m like you it was a pyramid scheme. i had a lot of booking myself and didn't get a dime back. then i cancelled and didn't get my money back. i was told sorry for the miss under standing. i can't beleive that there are people out there take kmoney from people that just are trying to make some extra money in these hard times. if you know of any way of putting this co. out of busy please let me know. i hate the thought of other pople lossing their hard earn money. jeanfarley48 AT yahoo.com From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 20-Sep-09 10:13:11 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisEvidently, you are either lazy or not very bright. YTB is a wonderful company with a genius idea. Anyone who treats YTB like a business, will reap the benefits of YTB. It seems like all you wanted to do was to simply plop some money down, & get a free ride. For the record, my YTB Travel Credentials have saved me more money than what I have invested in the business. Furthermore, I also have a CLIA card, which all of the Cruise Lines recognize. Good luck on whatever it is that you are doing now. Someday you will look back, and wonder why you didn't make a committment to building your YTB business, instead of simply giving up. Becoming wealthy is not easy, otherwise, everybody would be wealthy. For all you ignorant ( Not stupid )(MEANS YOU DONT KNOW) people out there. If you want to gain market share you must have either sales people promoting your product ,or spend Billions on advertisement T.V etc. or get a team of INDEPENDENT REPS. (who are paid only when they produce.)If you owned a company which do you think would be the smartest to have? If they referrer people to the company and get a commission for bring on quality people who in turn do the same that's seems like a smart thing to me. The more RTA's with YTB the less people who used to go to go to expedia, priceline and travelocity, not to mention the old BRICK & MORDOR T.A's. Now there circle of influnce their FAMILY AND FRIENDS that used to go to those sites & OLD T.A's now only go to their friends YTB site! After awhile there will be more people who book on YTB! Once we have MARKET SHARE! THOUSANDS OF IMR'S ALSO CALL REFERRING TRAVEL AGENTS RTA's Win! TA's lose..... IATAN recently dropped ytb and three other companys. Joystar did not loose thier IATAN numbers to date just their Royal Caribbean Cruise Liscense with YTB and GTI. Ytb was Terminated from Royal Caribbean as a Card Mill. This means that the YTB business model is losing to much credibility with the Travel industry and suppliers. YTB SHOUTS ABOUT GROSS SALES BUT NOT WHAT COUNTS Let's Look at Past Stock Reports Total Revenues = $24,178,481 Online Store Sales and Monthly Fees - $17,965,361 or 74.3% Training Fees and Marketing Materials sold to field - $3,361,152 or 13.9% Travel Commissions Received - $2,537,694 or 10.5% YTB is a travel company and their lowest revenue producer is travel commissions. YTB made more from training program fees and marketing materials. YTB increased in the number of RTAs by 20% in Q1 of 2007 - but, travel only increased 1.2%. I doubt you'll ever see travel commissions received be more than 20% of YTB's income - and I'm being generous. Of the $2.5 million in travel commissions received, they only paid out a mere $1,608,688 or 63.4% of ALL travel commissions received - TOTAL. But, of the $21.3 million in other received revenue - it paid out - $16,136,795 or 75.8%. For a travel company selling websites that people are to be selling travel on, this revenue stream only produced 10.2% in Q1 of 2007 and only 9% in 2006 - and in Q2 2007 - I bet it won't be over 12% - if that. YTB is more geared toward The company and comp plan. Not much travel training. So the training really has no value in the travel world. The time has come to contact me asap......majorrsd AT aol.com! From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 18-Nov-07 05:06:45 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisThe above poster is correct. YTB RTA's refer people to a website to book travel. They pay a fee to sign up and are required to recruit a downline, classic MLM/Ponzi scheme. They do not have a customer service department and will refer you back to the vendor or in this case cruise line. YTB RTA's lack any travel training and are clueless how the travel industry works. They are told by the powers at the top they can travel like a travel agent and receive free trips and discounts. They don't care about the travel industry and are only in it to get their free perks and discounts which in reality are few and far between. They don't care about their customers they are referring to their website. Currently, Royal Caribbean and other travel suppliers are cutting them off. Their is a petition among the real travel community to get the suppliers to cut off their discounts and have them stop referring to themselves as "travel agents." There are plenty of good, legitimate travel agents out there. Ask for referrals, look in the yellow pages. Make sure the travel agent you use has errors and omission insurance, is certified and bonded. Check for credentials with the Travel Institute such as CTA and CTC. Ask for references. Check if they are with ARC or IATAN. Check the BBB site and with your state to make sure they are licensed. Above all, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. EverettDurham, NC 27703 I would not advise anybody to book anything through YTB. They obviously hire anybody who will pay the $350 fee, whether they're competant, intelligent, an idiot, or whatever. The RTA I booked through was completely incompetant. He never followed up like he should have to find out when the cruiseline would send cruise documents, never provided booking numbers, and whether we wanted/needed transfers to the port for example. Once I finally took it upon myself to find out what my booking number was, I was able to see that the I had been assigned an interior stateroom when I paid for an oceanview. The RTA was unable to make the cruiseline understand where the error was, so I called the YTB corporate office and sent e-mails to them to try to get the problem rectified. I left messages for several people, Christina Fuller in Group Travel and Amber T. in Travel support and neither of them ever got back to me. This all happended within one week of the cruise, so I was totally panicing. All they kept saying was the RTA would have to work the problem out, even though the mistake occurred because someone from the corporate office sent the cruiseline the wrong information. They don't have a customer service line and won't let you speak to supervisor's and get an attitude when you question the people who answer the phone. I guess if your RTA gets hit by a car, you're just out of luck. This company is not legit and will not last. They don't even have a customer service department or Customer service people to handle complaints. Whoever designed their business model must have been a middle school dropout. How can you have a customer driven business, with no customer service department? Do not use YTB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
