Management Division Morris Plains, NJ United States 07950 (973)695-0260 www.publicstorage.com Exact location is Mountainside Facility, yet the real complaint is with corporate and district management. COMPLAINT INFORMATION: Just 3 days after moving into my space, I was sent a letter stating that I MUST move out of this space at MY Expense as the facility was planning to renovate. This letter stated that absolutely NO help would be offered, neither in the form of free labor , nor refunds of any kind. Also, the threat was made that if I did not move out within the mere 2 week time alotted to me that the co would break into my space, move me, charge me for the move And would take NO RESPONSIBILITY for Loss or Damage of my belongings. I have spoken several times with the facility manager John who is sympathetic, but says he has no authority, to corporate who will provide no help, and to the district manager who was rude, unsympathetic, and did not return my calls after the first. I explained that I had just finished moving into the space days before receiving the letter, and that I am closing on a house June 8 requesting more time, but no response. I believe that there are 90 customers involved in this move. One last detail is that stamped on the envelope that held the letter sent from Public Storage stating that they do not offer moving labor, were the words "NOW WE CAN MOVE YOU! Call 1-800-44-STORE". Another complaint I have is that the monthly charge does not begin the day you move in, it begins the 1st of the month, and any days prior are not charged or prorated at a fair amount. Desired Settlement: Refund At the very minimum, I should receive one month free storage for my trouble. They offer 1st month free for new customers, so if I am moving to a new space, I should be offered one month free.
