Subject: Compaq Computers Dear Complaints:
I have had a Compaq Presario for less than three months and have had to replace the modem and the monitor. The modem quit on the first day, and the monitor two months later. The support service at Compaq was not so much the problem as the reliability. I remember when Compaq first appeared on the scene, they were a great company, now they are at the bottom of my things to buy list!
I am part of a space education group and when it comes to computers We expect our equipment to work, because many students depend on what we do!

I have had at least 10 hard drives ( 9 after my Compaq warranty ran out) reinstalling those drives destroyed my disk, so I called Compaq, explained I wanted to talk to a manager that could tell me if my computer was on a lemon list. When I got the man on the phone I explained the situation, because after all these problems I am sick of it, and Sam's claim there is no Lemon. Now this is exactly what Compaq told me, I hope it can help you. They said you should have bought a compaq extended warranty, because we have a 3 repair rule, if you return something to be repaired 3 times we automatically replace it with the same or comperable computer. Now if I had bought the warranty from Compaq who knows, but that is exactly what he said. SO I would contact them and ask to talk to someone about this 3 repair rule. I even explained to him that it would be at least 2 to 3 different problems at a time, and he said if your computer continues to be sent back for repairs Compaq has that 3 rule thing especially when it is close together, because I was calling Sam's to send out a technician once a month for 6 months. So I would at least demand to talk to someone that has athourity that can help you be cause, whether the computer is on their lemon list, the man said 3rd time in shop, Compaq automatically considers it a lemon. Now Staples stands behind this rule on their warranty's, but he was just telling me that, true or not.
