beware anyone that goes into best buy better beware of thier practices. this store shows employess how to lie and rip of customers. they are only out for ghe money. this happened to me and could happened to you. Do not shop there tell anyone ! I 'am disabled and my mother is a senior citzen. we decided to pull are money together and buy a dvd player two years ago When we got there we were told by a sales employer that none of the dvd player would work on a 1993 tv. He suggested a dvd vcr combo. Which cost $89.00.

 

He suggested to take out the 4 year warranty thruogh best buy which cost us $29.00 he said this would be wise because if anything goes wrong , we can bring it back and exchanged for a new one hassle free ! when we got to the cashier she told us the same thing. We purchased this waranty . well on 5-27-2005. My mother and I rented dvds. Well that night the dvd player side went out. I read the panasic book and see if it could be something else. It still would not work. I called panasic they told us the problem.

 

I explained to them that we have and extra warranty thruogh best buy, and they told me to exchange it so best buy could sent it back to them. When my mother and I went to best buy. She had to carry it in because I have use of only one hand. I explained to the girl. and she asked me were the orignial box and packaging was ! I told her who keeps this stuff to years or more. She was about to exchange it. when a gentlemen from the serivce are came up. he stuck his nose in ! and said what is the matter. I explained to him and then another customer serivce girl. They said it could be fixed by best buy. I said that is not what the warranty was for.

 

I said I just wanted to exchanged it. ! by then I was angry. my my mother who is a senior citzen got angry. this was not good because she all ready had 4 strokes. They called the manger. The manger asked what the problem was, the line was getting longer. He said without the orignal box and packageing itt would cost me extra to by that material. then he told me that best buy does not exchange things they shipp it out to the ware house to be fixed. Which it would cost be and extra $30.00. I explained to him again that is not what we were told and what happened. he said I did not work there two years ago and the warranty was changed for two to four years last year.

 

I was never told by best by a letter of the change. I got matter and matter. he told me to com my self and my mother or he was going to call the police. because we were upseting the customer and employess. he said that they also would take a month to fix it, and that use , used parts or recondtioned parts or old ones from different dvd players. that is now in the warranty. I said If I did want it fix , I want brand new parts. He said best buy does not carry new parts. ! I took my player back and threw it away. I lost $29.99. if I let them fix it it would have cost me aruond $100.00. because of the labor was $80.00. I called best buy corp office, and talk to a bryan.

 

He said the warranty was not any good, because they changed it, and they do not exchange things. they do used parts from other appliances or recondtioned parts. this mean if it did not work I must bring it back to be fixed. That it would cost me to ship it and then he said they fix it in the store, but labor cost $80.00 He told me to get an attorney.. I called panasic back and told them. they said that I was lied to two years ago because my old tv could played a dvd player. I went to target a purchased a brand new one for $29.00 and it works.

I have a complaint about Pioneer DEHSP081 kit which consists of 1 car CD player deck and 4 speakers, which I purchased at Best Buy on 11/24/07 at Dublin, California.


The pictures outside the DEHSP081 box clearly shows an WMA/MP3 player, NOT a CD player. After Best Buy installed it for me I noticed the deck was actually a CD player.


I strongly believe this is fraudulent advertisement. The item's images outside the box is not the actual item inside. There is NO text outside the box that says "images are not the actual items" or a equivalent statement.


I spoke by telephone with Colin Balke, a manager from Best Buy, Dublin, California, who agreed to give me 20% off on a second MP3 deck and free installation. Judge for yourself if this is good business ethics.
