My 89 year-old mother wanted to transport her car from Sun City, Florida to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for the summer. She had seen the ad for Autotrail Transport in a local newsletter and contacted them in March, 2005. After having signed the paperwork and paid for the transaction by credit card, she was told that her car would be picked up on May 3, 2005, and would arrive in Massachusetts approximately five to seven days later.

On May 3, 2005, I called her to see how everything was going and she was obviously distraught and upset. It seems as if she had called Autotrails to check on the time of pickup for her car. The "gentleman" (I am assuming it was this Greg person) at the office became quite verbally abusive towards her, telling her that to stop harassing him or he would cancel the contract and she would forfeit her money.

I then contacted the Autotrail office in New York. A woman answered the phone and when I stated that I would like to discuss my mother's contract with the "gentleman" in charge, I heard her say (in a stage whisper), "It's her daughter". Greg came on the line with an obvious chip on his shoulder; however, after I assured him that my mother was not the type of person to harass anyone, but that I WAS, he began to make excuses for his nastiness towards her.

In all fairness to the other employees and subcontractors of this company, Greg seems to be the major problem here. Everyone else was polite and honest and my mother did receive her car....on May 24...almost three weeks to the day after it was picked up in Florida. She seems to be among the lucky ones, from what I am reading online. We will tell as many people as possible of this company which seems to be lacking in people skills, at best, and guilty of dishonest business practices at the very least. We will pass this information along to as many people as possible.
