2001 Ford Taurus / Transmission Problems 2001 Ford Taurus / Transmission Problems
I financed my 2001 Ford Taurus in January 2005. Since I have had this car I have had nothing but problems. 1st it started leaking oil and I had to have an oil pump replaced, then about a month later, the car stopped and fluid ran all over the road. I needed to have the upper hose replaced (antifreeze problem), next a Torque and seals needed to be replaced in the transmissions.
I have had a rental for about 1 month and have already spent over $800.00 on that, I have paid over$2,500 getting the car fixed for various problem, and since it's financed I still have to pay the payments. If you are going to buy, finance or lease a car, leave Ford alone, because I guess it's true what people say Ford stands for (F-Found, O-On, R-Road, D-Dead) I would not recommend anyone buy this type of car.

My transmission is now having problems though. I have had many Taurus's and the cost of these cars is very reasonable and the engine is extremely durable.
