We were about to purchase a 97 Toyota Rav 4 from Cypress Auto Sales. We left a deposit of $1500 on Thursday in order to set it aside. We test drove the vehicle and everything was fine except for the air conditioning. We agreed we purchase the vehicle Friday, May 27 at noon after Cypress Auto Sales promised to fix the air conditioning and have it ready by 12:15PM on Friday. We took a carfax report on the vehicle on Thursday, May 26 in the evening. Everything came out fine in the report. My son got a phone call the next morning and Felipe, the salesman who helped us, told my son the vehicle will be ready at 12:15pm that Friday.

When we got to the dealer Felipe refused to sell it. He stated that they took out a carfax report and that it was previously wrecked. That they had purchased it from an auction and they did not know up to the last minute they were about to sell us the vehicle. That was a lie as took out the carfax report the night before. We also asked him when we test drove the vehicle if it had the original title and he said yes. We asked for a good reason why they did not want to sell it and the lies they told us. They gave no good answer. Felipe then wanted to sell us another vehicle but we refused. Our time was wasted and even though we got our deposit back we agreed to a deal verbally. Just letting people know how crooked car dealers can be. By they way Felipe said that they do straight business with their clients when we went to see the vehicle! Manager was right there while the discussion was going on. We spoke to Felipe since he spoke Spanish. We are not very fluent in English.
