On May 24 after visiting the store in Oak Brook Ill and not finding kitchen counter stools I liked, I visited the WES outlet store in Itasca Il, where I found and purchased two Philadelphia House stools only to realize before leaving the store that one of them was broken,so I left without my purchase. I returned the next day to see if they had received any others, and found the broken stool had been fixed very nicely and both had been maked down $110.00.
When I tried to purchase them again I was told by Sandy that I could not buy them until Saturday May 28 when the sale will offficially start. I remembered that as an e-mail custumer you can buy sale items a day early. I called the store on Friday at 10:15 am and they said I could, I tried giving them my credit card over the phone and again was refused, (they do accept cards over the phone usuall). My husband left work and we arrived at the store before 1:00pm to find the counter stools gone. I was told by Sandy in a loud tone that they had been sold at the regular price, A BIG LIE!! someone else confirmed that. Furious I called customer service where Mr Smithe very condescently told me there is nothing he could do about that.
You see I was also ordering more stools at the Oak Brook store and they do have them in stock, he said he may be able to give me a discount but not sure and it will take several days, and that those were being sold below cost, but he never knew which item I was talking about and I felt he never even paid any attention to what I was saying or cared about the way I was lied to and treated, he kept saying he could not sell them to me until Saturday! when they were already sold! I don't think I could have bougth this outlet stools no matter what, probably being saved for a friend of Sandy. A lot of money spent on TV ads, Triple ZERO on customer service.
