Nationwide Auto Insurance Nationwide Auto Insurance
I purchased a Nationwide Insurance policy. When my daughter was added I was given one quote by an agent. Upon adding a car, there were problems. Months later I received a letter from Nationwide stating that there was an error on my daughters birth date and the rate would change, but no mention of what the rate would be.
The agent had added my daughter using my birthday and also added her with her birth date. It was difficult to get a quote on what the insurance would be for my daughter vs. myself. When I asked the agent the direct number to Nationwide, he said if I called Nationwide directly that my rates would go up that all the other clients he had that called them had their rates increased.
Well, yes my rates did go up because the birth dates were wrong and it looked like there were 3 drivers not 2. I had no idea of this. Then, when I cancelled my insurance with Nationwide and went with another agency, the Nationwide representative said I would be penalized and charged a short rate because I cancelled before the 6 months BUT if I sent my declaration page from my new insurance it would be less likely to happen.
