Old Navy complaint Old Navy complaint
To whom it may concern; I have been dealing with the Old Navy company for the past two days regarding my charge account with them. I called them Thursday to pay my balance over the phone and cancel my card given that I have had three bad experiences in the store now. (Over charged and then refused a credit at another Old Navy because it was not sold there, a long line at a register while the saleswoman talked on the phone about her date that weekend, and items on hold for Christmas that they "lost" in less than an hour.) So I called, talked with a woman named Connie who told me that paying over the phone would cost ten dollars and it would make more sense for me to just mail it. Then today, Saturday, at 8:20am, Judy calls from Old Navy and informs me that I need to make a payment. What!? I told her that I had talked to Connie and that she told me to mail it in. Judy informs me that there will be a late fee assessed if I mail it.
I told her I mailed it Thursday so I can't do anything about it now. She said that she just wanted me to know that there would be a late fee. She implied that she did not believe that someone had told me that. I stated that the recording on the phone said that the conversation would be recorded, I inquired if she could look up the conversation. She stated that there was no way of knowing which location has the recording and that looking it up would be impossible. I told her that someone in the company would have access to the recording and that I resented the implication that I was lying. I told her I wanted to close my account and she said she would be unable to do so. This card has been nothing but a headache and their lack of payment options, poor customer service, and total incompetence has lead me to the decision to never shop at any of their stores again. I will never set foot in another Banana Republic, Gap, or Old Navy store. I am writing to inform others as well as to ask for some assistance in dealing with this inept company.
