I am writing to complain about Altell. Can you believe this: My grandma has been with altell for over 10 years. I I have had a cell phone with them since I was 16, I am now 22. My poor grandma has lost an absurd amount of money with this company. Back when I was 16 we both were on the same plan, 2 phones. Every month the bill was over $200!! We could not understand! Finally I took the time to call them and ask what the heck was going on. Apparently at that time and with our plan, of you went over your minutes that month, your free nights and weekends were then obsolete. Basically she was paying bills for me using my phone primarily on the weekend when I thought it was free! They neglected to inform her of this “rule.” I just started paying for my phone on my own this year. I was unable to get another plan because I had no credit, so I just took over my grandmas plan by increasing the minutes and upgrading my phone. I never realized how deceiving Altell was until I was actually spending my own hard earned money. For the past 3-4 months I Have had the worse issues with Altell. The bills are never what they say they’ll be. Every month I knew for a FACT that I DID NOT go over my minutes but my bill was always around $95.00. It is suppose to be $60. That’s with my line and the extra line for my grandma and then text, insurance, and all that good stuff. I finally told Altell, take EVERYTHING off my phone. I don’t want ANY feature, I want the bare minimum until my plan ends in May. They assured me everything was taken off and my new balance would be around $50/month. Every month since then, it has been $90-$100!! So I learned that “detailed billing” is not automatically included in your monthly price, you have to pay extra to see every phone call you have made? Does that make sense? How are you going to pay for calls you have no proof of making?

Not only that but 4 months, 2 sales associates, and 2 managers I STILL haven’t had all the features removed. Not only that, but I didn’t even know that I had been paying for them because although they were able to take off my “detailed billing” , it doesn’t show up on my bill that I have been paying for texts and insurance. Every time I call to talk to someone and ask them about it, they’re only reply is that it takes time for the information to get into the computer systems and change the bills… 4 months!!! ?? So I want to end my plan without paying the cancellation fee. They are providing an inadequate service. Who knows what else they are adding to others’ phone bills. Think of the elderly who have no idea. PLEASE PEOPLE WE HAVE TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST ALTELL. IF WE GET ENOUGH PEOPLE WITH DOCUMENTATION AND DETAILS WE CAN DO THIS!! I have been emailing myself every time I speak with someone and including every thing they have told me, YOU HAVE TO DO THIS!! If you want to take a stand with me and file a civil action suit against altell, EMAIL ME PLEASE!! I am organizing this stand and I am asking all of you to help me. If we have many people, this can be achieved. Remember there will be no upfront money because lawyers don’t get paid until the ruling. WE CAN SUE FOR PUNITIVE damages.

By them hiding facts and costs from us is UNLAWFUL and should be pentalized! We as consumers have to fight for our rights against these huge companies that are stealing our hard-earned money! It isn’t fair, we all work too hard! If you are tired of Altell stealing your money then email me and let’s take a stand!
