AOL and 24 Protect Plus AOL and 24 Protect Plus
24 Protect Plus was able to get my credit card and personal information from AOL. Either through a pop up that I accidentally triggered or through a hole in the AOL security. They charged my card twice in one year. When I contacted them they appeared to have a well rehearsed script about how their information came from AOL.
They would not agree to send me anything in writing to indicate that the charges would stop and the account would be closed. I am trying to get my credit card company to contest those charges and reverse them. AOL will not help. They are useless and their support staffs will also read you a well prepared script. Today i opened my CC bill and Intelius charged me $19.95 12/6/08 & 1/5/09, 24ProtectPlus $19.95 12/2/08 & 1/1/09. I emailed them both requesting a Rfd & disputed the charges with my CC & changed my ac#, THEN had to contact 15+ autopay people on my New ac#.. GOSH I hope the dispute slides through & I hope they dont pop up again.. joe_wht AT msn.com From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 12-Jan-09 22:13:41 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI work at a class action law firm and we are investigating this issue with Intelius. I am interested in talking to people and hearing about their experiences. Please contact me at abby1100ny AT yahoo.com if you’ve had problems with Intelius or if you have any questions on this investigation. Thanks, Abigail. I don't know how this happened but our credit card company is currently investigating the charges. I called both companies and no one picked up the phone. However, on the website 24ProtectPlus had ALL my wife's information. Maybe our credit card company will find out more information about these frauds and shut them down. Good luck to anyone else who runs into these people. My suggestion, if you get charged close your account immediately. The charges were for $19.95 and I got hit for 3 Months. I realize they must have pulled my CC and personal info as I was making travel arraignments for an Orlando trip. I called the phone # indicated on the charge and was asked to enter my CCard as membership conformation. I was then put on hold for over 30 minutes. I had Well Fargo put a block on this company and they are refunding me for the unauthorized charges. I still have not been able to speak to anyone form this company. I never got a response from Intelius so as far as I am concerned Intelius is also a scam.
