Complaint Classification: Fraud Complaint Description - Posted 3-22-2005 Before ordering from Fine Art Treasures Gallery I asked about there return policy and quality guarantee. I was told that an item could be sent back for any reason with a small restocking fee and that a FULL refund would be issued on items delivered not as described. On January 29th, 2005 I purchased a diamond ring described as a three stone millennium ring, 1ct in total weight, SI1 in clarity and G-H in color with a valued of $4800 with Appraisal.
The ring that I received was I3 at best with three deep scratches on the center stone, champagne in color at best L-M and without an appraisal. When I contacted the owner I was told that the wrong ring must have been sent. I sent the ring back to fine art treasures as instructed by the owner (Jimmy). After inspection the owner agreed that the ring was not as described and that a replacement would be sent. After five weeks, several phone calls and rude customer service a replacement was finally sent to me.
The replacement appeared to be the same ring sent to me in January with the same bad quality, color, scratches and again no appraisal. I took the ring to a jeweler who stated that the ring was I2 - I3, with scratches on the stone and that all three stones were champagne in color. I again contacted Fine Art Treasures and told them that I wanted to send the ring back for a refund and was rudely instructed to do so. I sent the ring back again paying for next day delivery and still have not received a refund. Complaint Summary Falsified description of item, admitted wrong item was sent, resent same item and now still waiting for refund.
