Indianapolis, IN 46256 Re: March 28, 2005 Purchase Attempt with Ticketmaster To All Parties Concerned: Please find below my trail of correspondence with Ticketmaster regarding the failure of their system during my attempt to purchase tickets on March 28th, 2005 for the Jimmy Buffett concert scheduled for August 31st, 2005. I am seeking your assistance in completing the purchase transaction I was involved with when Ticktmasters system experienced a failure. I do have printed evidence of each screen transaction that took place during my attempted purchase. I had the foresight to print these pages as a result of a similar transaction failure that took place in 2004 with Ticketmasters system. As you can see from the most recent reply from Ticketmasters customer service department, they have offered tickets available to me to purchase that are not even for the event I attempted to purchase tickets for. As you can clearly see, all during my communication I have indicated that I wish to complete the purchase transaction for the Noblesville, Indiana show. However, due to an apparent lack of attention on their part to my complaint, I have been offered the ability to purchase tickets to a show in Cincinnati, not Indianapolis. I have also repeatedly asked for a fax number to submit printed evidence of my transaction and their failure to complete it and/or give me additional purchase instructions, but have not been provided that information. Because my apparent inability to resolve this matter through the customer service channels at Ticketmaster I am asking your assistance in bringing this matter to a resolution. In 2004 I was involved with a ticket purchase using Ticketmasters online system when it experienced a failure. I received a webpage which stated that an error had occurred and my purchase could not be confirmed. In fear I would not received tickets for the event, I went through the purchase process a second time and did receive a confirmation of my purchase. Approximately two weeks later, I received in the mail not only tickets for the purchase that was completed, but also for the one which I had received the error message on. Hence, I was charged for two sets of tickets, more than I needed, wanted, or could afford to buy.
I followed up with Ticketmaster regarding this error, and was advised of their no refund/return policy. I received no assistance and was left paying for their mistake. As a result of my 2004 experience, when I received the same error screen during my transaction yesterday, March 28th, I did not attempt a second purchase in fear that I would once again be charged for two transactions. I went through their purchase history search and followed the appropriate online help section only to find that their claim is this purchase did not transact. Ticketmaster is paid a great deal of money to perform a service. A large system demand for ticket sales during a Jimmy Buffett concert is, obviously, not a surprise. However, if a company is contracted to perform a service, they should be able to complete this service in an efficient manner. Consumers are left with no recourse, no options, and nobody to stand up for them against this monopolistic giant. My request is to simply be allowed to complete the transaction that was in process prior to Ticketmasters system failure. Any assistance that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. As stated previously, I do have evidence of each transaction page from the Ticketmaster website. Thank you very much for your time and attention. Their credit card process crashes quite often if you use a debit card - so to get around this i used my credit card. However when i checked my bill, they had infact taken from my debit card - so i ended up with twice the quantity of tickets i required. Would they take them back - NO. The venue say it is nothing to do with them because they were booked through an agency. Ticketmaster just keep saying 'see our terms and conditions', over and over. I used to use Ticketmaster quite a bit. But not anymore. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Wednesday, 06-Feb-08 06:51:44 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
