Dell / computer

Dear Sir or Madam:

I purchased a Dell computer more than a year ago. I didn't qualify for their no-interest financing even though my credit history is exceptional. I paid the balance is less than three months. I received a four dollar check from Essential, a company affiliated with Dell. Essential claims I signed the check which established a Dell preferred account. I have no knowledge of signing the check. The check looks like a rebate check.

I spoke to an Essential customer service representative to explain the misunderstanding. The customer service representative told me many Dell customers believe the four dollar check is a rebate. She told me to mail a five dollar check to the Dell Financial Services to resolve the problem. I complained to Henry Williams, a Dell Financial Service Supervisor, telling him Dell Financial Service representatives are harrassing my wife and me.

They called me again twice this week. I'm planning to contact the Consumer Protection Agency. I reported the harrassing phone calls to a Dell Manager in January and he assigned me a complaint case number 093-6326-60. Please read the attachment. I read in the Rock Island Argus newspaper, a California law firm filed a class-action lawsuit against Dell. How may I join the lawsuit? I am very unhappy with how Dell and its affiliate companies do business with customers. It's about time big corporations like Dell find out some customers won't tolerate their ways of doing business.

Thank You,

Joseph R. M
