Debt collection - Suburban Philadelphia

I received a letter from NCO claiming that I owe $600 for a medical test which was performed on 7/8/04. I called and explained that my insurance should be taking care of this. The lady did not want to hear that as an answer.

I knew before calling that I was going to have a hard time, since they had on my credit report that I owed $75 from years ago, which was paid at the Doctor's office, again to NCO financial in 1999 and when I went for a mortgage in November of 2004, I had to pay this for a 3rd time and it is still on my credit report as not being paid.

I would like to know how this company gets away with their practices and who gets the money which they collect 2 and 3 times for the same bills.

I have resorted to hiring an attorney to resolve this issue, as NCO refuses to check anything out, saying it is not their responsibility

I had an experience with them today too - from 11:08 am until 3:27 pm - until I finally gave up to find an alternate method of contacting the original creditor who had never billed me or my insurance company. At NCO, I was transferred, placed on terminal hold, disconnected, transferred again, given wrong numbers, treated rudely, hung up on - and never given any useful information. I would explain the info & each time be placed on hold (and you know the rest). At one point, I pushed 1, as instructed, and was told I was being directed to Barbados.(What?!) I was told by an NCO rep that they couldn't tell me the creditor, I was sent to their insurance info dept to give insurance info & then told they couldn't take it, transferred again, etc. (Getting the picture?) It seems to be quite a system they have - to wear you down until you give up. No one seems to be there to resolve problems - they don't even seem to have the resources to do so. It seems as though they've just been trained to place callers on "terminal hold" or disconnect them - without working towards any resolution. The only "conversation" was: "Do you intend to make payment?" after I explained it needed to be filed with insurance and we needed to be appropriately billed - the representative simply kept repeating the question. When I finally responded with a no, she disconnected me. Some might call it a "racket" - it was certainly frustrating.

In 2006 NCo FInancial offerd me a settlement on a overdrafted M&T Bank Checking account and I accepted the offer and paid them $173 by check by phone. 2 years later I got notice from M&T Bank that this was still not paid.. I called NCO Financial and after being transferred through 5 departments I finally got to talk to the collector that took payment from me 2 years ago. She asked why I was calling and once she found out that I was calling for proof of payment she told me she cant pull that account up anymore and to contact the bank and hung up. I called back and I couldnt get a word in before she started yelling at me and saying she wont pull up the account and to call the bank. I called back a third time and asked for a manager and the manager told me that its not NCO Financials problem anymore and to stop harrasing them and hung up. ALL I NEEDED WAS A LETTER STATING I PAID THIS ACCOUNT AND THEY REFUSED TO DO SO!!! Ref#9k179r

I have never, ever had any good dealings with this company! They suck! I have worked in the Medical Billing field for 5 years and still dread the phone calls to them. As a comsumer, it still is the same. you get nowhere with any one in this comapny. They are rude, do not return phone calls and transfer you to extenshions that are not there! By law, they have to report your credit as paid, but you have to write many many letters to them stating to have it paid. Or you could dispute it w/ the Credit Burors.

Good lucka nd God Bless!

I have had so many issues with this company! I have paid them over 150.00 and they are claiming they only received 25.00! I don't know how they are still a company! It's ridiculous the way they treat people. I have even left a message for the manager explaining and never received a return call. They were telling me I didn't care about my credit, to pay the bill even though it was more than I owed! That my tax money should go to pay the bill off, asking me what I do with my money. This is the most ridiculous excuse of a company I have ever ever known!
