Dell Dimension 8400

I purchased a Dell Dimension 8400 in December of 2004. Two months later, the RAM boards had to be replaced. Now in June of 2005 I have had a complete hard drive failure. I purchased the 3 year "Gold Technical Support" for this computer but when my RAM boards went I had to spend time on the phone with someone from India who tried to explain how to open the computer identify the boards and check them to see if they were defective before they would send a tech to actually replace them. Now that my hard drive has crashed I am told that the "Gold Technical Support" service only covers reinstallation of the physical hard drive.

I will have to spend many hours reinstalling the running program and drivers as well as my other software and data. I will no longer purchase from Dell. This is the 4th computer that I have purchased from Dell and I have had a total of 4 hard drive crashes! On one computer the hard drive went within one month of the computer's purchase. On another, the hard drive was replaced after one year and then crashed again approximately 3 months later. This track record - in addition to Dell's unwillingness to perform any work beyond hardware installation is unaccepable and, in my opinion, certainly not worth the money.
