Timeshares by Owner Kissimmee, Fl Primary Complaint Classification: Selling Practices I signed up with Timeshares by Owner to rent my time share. Their sales person had promised me that they would rent the timeshare within less than 3 months. It's been over a 2 years and they haven't done anything they promised. To join timeshares by owner is very expensive about $500+ per listing. When talking to the sales person they make so many promises and stated that they have rented many timeshares for many satified owners. After about 1 year, I called the sales person after the first year of waiting and left many many messages for them. They never return any of my calls. I finally called the management of timeshares by owners and found out that the only thing they did was to list my time share with thousands others timeshare appartments. When I went to their web site, I discovered that I could not even find my timeshare because the descriptions of the time share were very general and did not list specific units. The bottom line is that Timeshares by Owners is a big ripeoff. Buyers should stay away from these types of service. You can always list the timeshares yourself in your local paper for a whole lot less. N. New York, NY. First, she couldn't pronounce my first name correctly. When she asked if I had a timeshare to rent or sell, I asked her how she knew if I had a timeshare or not. She refused to answer my question by re-stating what she had already told me. I told her she needed to answer my question: "How do you know whether or not I have a timeshare?" She then said, "I don't have time for this. I'm going to move on to the next name on my list." Very unprofessional!!!! I was under the impression that if someone asks a company how they got their information, they are required to provide that. They sound like a complete rip-off!!! That was want Andrus told me. It's been 15 months now, and no sale. But guess what? They now have a "Special Winter Clearance" they want to put me in. The cost started at $1,500 -- and is now down to under $600. I keep telling them no more money, but they keep calling me. When I asked why no one else had been able to sell my timeshare but she could, she answered, "Well, I'm Beth ****" like that was supposed to mean something to me. They just don't get it when I say, "You aren't getting any more of my money!" After talking to a rep of course I wanted to check out the company and not paying attention I thought this was the same one. I am sure glad I was wrong! I only paid $129 and they sold my timeshare in 3 mos!!! I also had lost about $1,500 to other companies which is why I was looking them up. They did such a great job and were no nice through the whole process I just wanted to make sure no one else made the mistake I did thinking they were the same company! The CC will reinburse your money and it will leave it up to BS company dispute it. Now, Since they are a fraud, they won't dispute any charges because of retribution that you may go to the FBI, IRS, DA office in Fl, and better business beauru, and even police and denounce them for their business malpractices. I bet they'll get scare and won't dispute anything. In fact, you should google their address on google map and see what you get, and what kind of building(shack) they have.Unfortunately for me, it may be different because I paid with a debit card and the only thing i can do is call my bank and see what they can do. On the other hand, try to make these scumbags their lives hell! Pass on this info. I figure I have nothing to lose and all I am trying to do is help at get back at these low-life pieces of s***. Let me know how is goes. Their representative pitched a line at me that sounded like she was a personal advisor from Wyndham Resorts to help us with lowering maintenance fees and other costs we might have. As a VIP Gold member she thought we had too many points and wanted us to list a large amount with her. Luckily, we had just made an additional purchase and hadn't sorted things out yet. I thanked her for her assistance and told her I would call back if and when I wanted to list. I called her today for some help. She was not in the office so I had to leave a voice mail message. Then, this evening, something told me to check this company out. Thankfully, I found this consumer report site. Hope she returns my call tomorrow. All they needed was a client ID# and $2,944 up front. Then I saw the complaints page. Thanks for the warnings ahead of time. In fact it is worse than that...I was actually looking to rent a timeshare in the Orlando area and decided to see what was available on their website. I contacted them about 2 or 3 that I was interested in and they never even got back to me about my EXPRESSED INTEREST. So how does that make me feel about their "marketing" of my timeshare? I'll tell you...not confident at all that even if someone saw my ad and asked for information that their interest would even be followed up on! Pathetic. I read your complaint along with 15 others. All negative, nothing positive. How do you go about selling a timeshare, there is nor a local realtor to assist me. All full of promises, guarantees and more. Glad I read this first, it saved me money and cost them a client! Your a thief and a fraud. taking advantage of people and hiding behind blurred legal-lies. I for one would not have paid $699 for advertising my timeshare without the guaranty of a sale. That I am 100% sure of. I had already lost about $1500 so called timeshare sales agencies I was not about to pay a dime more. And your sales representative knew this. I flat out said I have no money to give to a timeshare sales company. That is why your sales rep the said Timeshares by owner works directly with Wyndham, you have contact to sell to people after the view the presentations by the timeshare company, and she guaranteed a sale or rental before the bill came due if i used a credit card. "Actually right now we have customers looking to rent at the location you own, we need the points" she said. And the verification process. First of all i do not remember hearing anything about 10 days to cancel & it was not on any packet i got. All i got was print outs of the add & the transaction receipt. Oh and your rep was supposed to be calling me every week for an update. LIES, LIES, LIES! It wasn't until 30 days later when I wrote to terminated then i got this pile documents with one indication i had seven days to cancel. You guys obviously did not put me in a situation to cancel after 7 days if you are guaranteeing a sale in 30 days. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 05-Sep-08 16:30:05 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI too have been defrauded by this company. This transaction is fraudulent. when i decided to cancel and iasked for a refund, they then claimed i had 7 days to cancel. I was not informed of a 7 day time frame to cancel. How could I cancel in 7 days if I was promised a sale in 30 days? These people contacted me saying they resell timeshare for Wyndham, the chain that owns the timeshare I’m trying to sell. The representative named Laura, called me several times and told me that they have buyers waiting to buy my Bonne creek property. I was told it will be sold before my credit card bill came due. I did not make this statement up. I can list my timeshare for sale myself on craigs list or a local news paper for nothing. I did not sign up with them to just forever list that time share. THAT IS BULL! It is straight up fraud and false advertising and i intend to keep fighting it. if not i will make sure everyoutlet possible knows of their fraudlent selling tactic.
