Protect America, Inc. I. like many others was fooled by Protect America. I signed up with them for the 2 year contract. I sold my home for employment change, and was told the same thing...you didn't request a cancellation within 60 days... you owe us for another entire YEAR or we will send you to collections...I had to pay for an additional year even though I didn't even live in that home. I had made every payment, ontime, without fail. I had a direct payment from my banking institution.

I paid them off in Dec. of 04., I found on my bank statements 5 months later that they continued to withdraw from my bank account each month. Of course when I contacted them about a reimbursement, the response was that I would have to wait for them to "process" it and this could take an unspecified amount of time. This company has lost my business forever. They were decieving, and nasty when they felt I owed them, even if through a "shadey" contract, and are now asking me to be oh-so paitent while they sit on my hard earned cash. DO NOT USE this company.

You have no recourse once involved...and they will without hesistation jack your credit, even if you have been a great customer, oh and by the way, don't think about calling them...you'll get a voice mail that likely ends with "you have been warned, we will be sending your claim to a collecting agency".
