I signed up for DirecTV. At the time I was scheduling the installation, I turned down the DVR with the understanding that I could simply buy a DVR later, hook it up myself, and call DirecTV with the card number and they'd activate it. My husband and I were in the process of moving (I was setting the service upat our new location), and I just wanted to buy the DVr later.

 

When the installer came, I again asked about the DVR, and he assured me that it would be no problem. That all I needed to do was hook it up and call DirecTV. When the installer finished, and he called to activate my account, he put me on the phone, and once again, I asked the DirecTV rep about the DVR hook-up process.

 

Two days later, my husband and I went to Best Buy to purchase the DVR. he Best Buy sales associate informed us that by buying the DVR there after we'd already had instalation that we would not be able to record anything on the DVR unless the TV was on that channel. So, we wouldn't be able to get the full function of the DVR, unless we paid someone to come out and run another wire from the satellite to the DVR. I was infuriated! Not one person, being DirecTV or the installer, mentioned this timy tid bit of important info to me.

 

I called DirecTV and they want to charge me full price for the DVR, shipping, and installation. I am sooooooo unhappy with DirecTV. i was much happier as a Dish Network customer! Click this link to e-mail the message author: Email User
